NHS dental care is still free to children under 18 or under 19 in full-time education, as well as pregnant women, new mothers, and people on certain state benefits. Please ask us for further details on possible exemptions. The practice team will be happy to answer any questions you have about NHS charges.

The NHS provides all the treatment necessary to secure and maintain your oral health. There are some treatments (mainly cosmetic) that are not normally available under the NHS, and you may choose to have these provided privately.

Dental Insurance

If you have dental insurance, please bring your policy document to your appointment or email it to us in advance. We can help clarify whether your policy covers general or cosmetic dental treatments.

Dental insurance may include cover for:

  • Routine dental check-ups (including X-rays, usually limited to two per year)
  • Hygiene appointments, scaling and polishing
  • Fillings, extractions and crowns
  • Bridges and dentures
